Q: I took a pregnancy test at home, but received two different results. How do I know if I’m pregnant?

A. Turning Point has medical-grade pregnancy tests with a 99% accuracy rate. Your pregnancy tests results will be verified by our medical professionals to ensure accuracy and a pregnancy verification letter if it comes up positive.

Q: What types of medical services are available at Turning Point?

A: Turning Point provides free pregnancy testing and verification, along with a health consultation by one of our medical professionals. If your test is positive, you may be eligible for a no-cost ultrasound which is the most accurate way to find out how far along you are. These important medical services are offered in a comfortable, confidential and understanding environment, at no-cost to you.

Q: What are my early pregnancy options at Turning Point?

A: We offer a wide range of early pregnancy solutions, depending on how far along your pregnancy is. From parenting educational programs to adoption referrals to community-based resources, we’ll offer what you feel is the best option for you and your child.

Q: What if my pregnancy test comes up negative?

A: We will provide you with a free health assessment, birth control alternatives, STD education and more. No matter what happens regarding your pregnancy – even if you’re not pregnant – Turning Point is here to help you in any way possible.

Q:Who is eligible for Turning Point’s pregnancy services?

A: Any woman who resides in San Diego County. The Turning Point Pregnancy Resource Center has assisted women in San Diego County since 2000. If you’re a student attending a college, university, trade school, career training academy or other institution of higher learning in San Diego County – even if you’re not a full-time county resident – you’re more than welcome to schedule an appointment.

Q: How much does it cost to access Turning Point’s pregnancy counsel and services?

A: Our services are provided completely free of charge. As a non-profit organization, we rely on the generous donations from individuals and corporations throughout Southern California. Because of our non-profit status, we’re able to offer our entire menu of crisis pregnancy programs, services and medical care for free!

Q: Is Turning Point for women only?

A: We realize that crisis pregnancies impact more than just women. Family members, boyfriends, husbands, brothers, sisters, grandparents and others are affected by a sudden pregnancy. Thus, Turning Point also offers counsel and parenting education programs for women and men. In fact, we recently launched our Brothers in Arms program, an initiative that provides would-be fathers crucial mentoring, employment preparation, parental education and other forms of support. Fatherless children are more likely to be incarcerated than children from homes with two parents, and children who grow up without a dad also experience lower academic achievement, stunted social skills and other negative behaviors and lifestyle results. Similar to our pregnancy services for women, all of our programs for men are also free of charge.

Q: What about adoption?

A: Our philosophy is that every child deserves a chance. That’s why we work with adoption agencies throughout Southern California. We provide all women with a strong adoption advocacy network to keep all options on the table. If you’re considering adoption as a possible path for your crisis pregnancy, we can work with you to determine the best decision moving forward.

Q: I heard about possible cuts to Planned Parenthood and other organizations. Will that affect the quality of care Turning Point provides?

A: The Turning Point Pregnancy Resource Center receives no federal funding. Any public funding cuts for women’s health groups do not impact our ability to serve women in San Diego County. We receive all of our budgetary funds from private donations.
